Roopa Pai’s ‘Let’s Talk About Trees’ provides a fun and informative introduction to trees and highlights the many historical and cultural connections we share with our tall plant neighbours. With a warm and friendly tone that is perfect for young readers, the author guides the reader through the Treeverse, introduces them to the Desi Dozen—12 unique Indian trees—and leads them to discover their deeply personal answer to the question “What is a tree?” With lively illustrations that capture our magical connections with trees, this book is a delight for nature enthusiasts of all ages.

About the Illustrator
Barkha Lohia is an Artist and Illustrator who was born and raised in India and is now based in Toronto, Canada. Her work is an amalgamation of everything experienced around her, be it the bustling railway stations, boisterous characters in the streets, or the quiet solitude experienced in the midst of nature. She enjoys working with watercolours, acrylics, charcoals, in short anything that will ruin that perfectly nice shirt. An independent Illustrator, she has worked on a diverse range of projects—from picture books, posters, textbooks, cards and natural history illustrations for various publications, conservation organisations, and design agencies.
